Centre for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy
CASSE advances the concepts and practices required for a steady state economy (SSE). The SSE is characterized by a marginally lower, stabilized level of consumption. It remains the only empirically proven pathway towards a "sustainable" and prosperous economy -- in other words, one that doesn't require material growth, an increase in waste, and deep debt for a high level of well-being. CASSE educates citizens, organizations, and policymakers on the empirically demonstrable conflict between economic growth and ecological and economic sustainability, as well as the conflict between growth and international security.
