Charles Simard is one of the Manigotagan River Stewards and knows the
river very well. He has been running a shuttle and guiding service for
many years and is a great source of information. He is very friendly and
if you happen to meet him on the river, he will be happy to point out
many interesting features of the area.

If the C&M Shuttle Service canoes are already booked, you can also contact Murray Marchement, the Coach of Hollow Water / Wanipigow's Canoe Racing Program: (204) 363-7361 or murraym (at) granite.mb.ca. They have 6 sturdy 17 ft Old Town canoes.
Parking
It is not recommeded that you leave your vehicle on Highway #304. The area is not patrolled by the community of Manigotagan and there have been reports of cars left there being vandalized.
There are two other options:- C&M Shuttle Service - Charles & Marilyn Simard (PH: 204-363-7355, Fax: (204) 363-7812, or Chico Simard (PH: 204-363-7535) offer supervised parking;
- Parking space in the Community Campground - Off Highway #304, just south of the bridge where the highway crosses the Manigotagan River. The fee is approximately $5.00 per day. Remember to notify the Manigotagan Administrative Office (PH: 204-363-7375) before leaving your vehicle.
Garbage Disposal
After your trip you may dispose of your garbage in the local landfill - please do not leave it anywhere else in the area, including the campground. The disposal of household garbage is free and the locals will appreciate your effort.
To get to the landfill from Manigotagan, drive to Highway #304 and turn North; turn left towards Hollow Water First Nation. The landfill is on your left side, just before the radio tower (which will be on your right).
Post Office
Located inside the Administrative Building by the Government Dock and the Flower Garden.Gas Station
The closest gas station to Manigotagan is in Hollow Water: "Grandpa George's" Gas Station and Convenience Store. From Highway #304, turn left towards Hollow Water First Nation. Follow this road for approximately 6km. Grandpa Georges will be on your left hand side. They are open from 8am until 11pm.Other gas stations are in Black River (56km), Bissett (57km) and Pine Falls (115km).
Grocery Store
- Seymourville opened a resort-style grocery store in 2007. It is called Lakeview Consumer Co-op and offers a variety of services. It is open 7 days/week. Hours during the summer are 9am-8pm (planned) and in the winter are 9am-6pm.
- "Grandpa George's" Gas Station also has a Convenience Store. From Highway #304, turn left towards Hollow Water First Nation. Follow this road for approximately 6km. "Grandpa George's" will be on your left. They are open from 8am until 11pm.

Carvings
If you would like to get a great local souvenir from your trip, check out the carvings made by local artist Dale Boulette. He makes Moose Antler and Soap Stone Carvings, as well as Diamond Willow Walking Sticks. To get here: From the North Star Hotel, drive towards Highway #304.
